CHAIRMAN OF FOOLS - BY SHIMMER CHINODYA

Dive into the gripping and consummately crafted world of Chairman of Fools, a novel that masterfully blends humour with pathos and absurdity with seriousness. This provocative story follows Farai Chari, a supposedly successful writer and professor of Literature whose world begins to unravel as his self-confidence is threatened by increasing paranoia. Caught between the pull of tradition and the hollowness of middle-class aspirations, Farai yearns for a world of freedom and respect, only to be forced to confront his own deep-seated prejudices and the harsh realities of a cruel country. It is a powerful exploration of the human spirit that will leave you questioning whether its hero is a self-indulgent fool or a brave, self-aware man.
